Extended Label Info: Through her work, self-taught artist Laura Harness reveals her own life as a farmer in Saskatchewan. She reconstructs memories of sadness, happiness, her family, her cows and her landscape as important documents to be treasured. She believes everything in her life is important and deserves to be treated life family. Through this sensitive and intimate portrayal of her world, Harness makes a personal record of cherished moments in time. Laura Harness (1928 - ) was born in Aylsham, Saskatchewan. Harness began sketching at an early age and is primarily as self-taught artist, she did take other art workshops in Arborfield, Saskatchewan. Harness has exhibited in group exhibitions in various Saskatchewan venues, including the MacKenzie Art Gallery (Regina) and AKA Gallery (Saskatoon). In 1980, her work was featured in a solo exhibition at Regina's Dunlop Art Gallery. Harness' work is represented in the collections of the Saskatchewan Arts Board and the Regina Public Library.
