Extended Label Info: This artwork was originally featured in "Coming-to-Presence: Works by Saskatchewan Aboriginal/Métis Artists", an exhibition at the Dunlop Art Gallery in 2008, guest curated by Adrian A. Stimson. This artwork is a continuation of some of Baerg's earlier work that explored themes of migration. This particular work relates the true story of five hundred ducks who took a dip in Syncrude oil sands tailings pond north of Fort McMurray. Four hundred and ninty-seven ducks coated with heavy oil died, fueling the controversy over waste disposal and environmental impact. He works in the Canadian television and film industry developing documentary and multimedia art projects.
